_ WAR _
A JUST WAR ?!

Shortly after the U.S. air attacks on the Islamic State the Catholic
pontiff, Pope Francis, was asked if he supported the bombing campaign.
His reply noted in an Aug.22 Washington Post article focused on "halting
UNJUST AGGRESSION" and clarified that he did not mean bomb or
make war. To his great credit the Pope also stated the need for international
cooperation and cited the creation of the United Nations after World
War II in solving such disputes.
It is important to note the "unjust aggression" happened in Syria and
Iraq NOT inside the United States. So while the United States demonstrated
leadership and provided aide to the stranded Yazidi people the extended
bombing campaign against the Islamic State exhibits destructive
hubris.
Yes the potential for FUTURE terrorism remains high and the
brutality of the Islamic State has been well documented. Couple that with
the propaganda released by the Islamic State and evidence shows the
international aspiration of the group. Consequently the UNITED NATIONS
must be the body to solve this INTERNATIONAL threat. The Islamic State
or ISIS, as they are often called, are not hiding in the caves of Afghanistan.
More importantly this group is not hiding at all. So just send U.N. peace
keepers into Syria and solve that trouble spot. After that, build troop strenght
and advance on the Islamic State.
President Obama needs to show the tyrants of the Middle East and Vladimir
Putin in Russia that the United States has the grace and strength to step aside
for the greater good of world.
UNILATERAL ACTION BY THE UNITED STATES MUST STOP !!
